Magnolia ISD Adopts Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD

Magnolia, Texas (September 22, 2017) –Magnolia ISD has adopted Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD (LCM) to help the school district with the rebuilding process. Four out of six schools in LCM suffered major damage and most of the families and students in the area also lost everything.

MISD and Voter Awareness Council Announce Get Out and Vote Campaign

The Magnolia Independent School District (MISD) and the Voter Awareness Council (VAC) are pleased to announce a student led get out the vote campaign at the two MISD comprehensive high school campuses. Under the leadership of faculty members Mrs. Brittany Lee Marrs and Mr. Jeremy Day, the high schools Senior Class Leadership Team, pictured below, will execute a project designed to inform their fellow students on their citizen-given right and obligation to vote.

MISD Students Represented at the 2017 Lone Star Leadership Academy Camps

One thousand two hundred seventy-four outstanding 4th-8th graders participated in Education in Action’s summer 2017 Lone Star Leadership Academy camps. Additionally, 28 student alumni returned to serve in a leadership role as youth facilitators. These young leaders were selected for the Lone Star Leadership Academy camps based on demonstrated academic success and leadership ability, an educator recommendation, and involvement in school/community activities. The participating students, representing communities across Texas, traveled to Dallas/Fort Worth (4th, 5th & 6th graders), Austin/San Antonio (5th, 6th & 7th graders), and Houston/Galveston (6th, 7th & 8thgraders) to take part in the camps.
