Magnolia ISD Business Professional of America Students Advance to State

Magnolia West High School students Sydni Jozwiak and Kelsey Jones competed on the Economic Research team event placing 2nd and advancing to the state level.

Magnolia High School had 21 of their students place in the top six of their competition with 18 advancing to the state level. The list of first place, state qualifiers: Financial Analyst Team is Maddie Kamei, Sarah Hubble, and Sarah Swift (National Champions in 2014-2015); Administrative Support Team is Riley Boggan, Laila Espinoza, Emily Farley and Brandon Frasier; Advanced Accounting is Sarah Hubble; Database Applications is Michelle Galeno; Fundamental Accounting is Jacob Sass; Medical Office Systems and Procedures is Hannah Robertson; and SQL Database is Alexander Duvall.

The list of second place, state qualifiers: Entrepreneurship is Neyda Castillo-Ortiz; Website Design Team is Andrew Nunn, Taylor Riley, Jacob Sass and Daniel Toemer; Basic Office Systems and Procedures is Jacque Waters; Legal Office Systems and Procedures is Kimberley Duncan; Fundamental Spreadsheet is Riley Boggan; Integrated Office Systems is Laila Espinoza.

The list of third place, state qualifiers: Advanced Spreadsheet is Brandon Frasier; Payroll Accounting is Maddie Kamei; Personal Finance Management is Caleb Wall; Prepared Speech is Daniel Toemer. Placing 5th in Intermediate Word Processing and also a state qualifier is Elizabeth Hernandez.

All of the state alternates are the Small Business Management Team which includes Kimberley Duncan, Daniel Masud, Caleb Wall, Jacque Waters who placed 4th; placing 5th for PC Troubleshooting is Logan Bray; placing 6th in Fundamental Word Processing is Emily Farley.

The students are now preparing for the state competition with their sights set on the national competition which will be held in Boston, Massachusetts in May.
