National Sporting Goods Retailer Selects Magnolia ISD for 2016 National Campaign

The DICK’S Sporting Goods creative team scouts areas of the country for various team sports that captures the true essence of the game. Manager of Creative Catalog Jody Pfister explains, “What better place to showcase football than Texas! After our research, our team selected Magnolia ISD for several reasons – one being the spirit of rivalry between the two teams in one town.”

Athletic Director Mike Spradlin says, “We are extremely excited that Dick's Sporting Goods has selected Magnolia ISD to be a part of their national campaign. It says a lot about where we are as an athletic program in MISD for a national company to select us to market their products. This continues to put Magnolia West and Magnolia High on the map and be nothing but a positive for our football programs and the school district.”

Magnolia High School Head Coach Sterling Doty says, “The campaign theme speaks to the foundation of our programs. We build winners in athletes, the classroom and in life. I know our kids are really fired up about this opportunity! ”

The production team selected 19 students to model various lines of cleats, gloves, and athletic apparel. The spring photoshoot included a line of scrimmage shot which is featured as a 16 foot wall mural in stores. The FootballScoop High School Video of the Year won by Magnolia West this year also inspired several shots including the huddle before a Friday night game.

Magnolia West Head Coach JD Berna says, “The production team was impressed with the authenticity of the athletes, and the respect and discipline of all the players with the coaching staff.”

The campaign launched last week on June 20 and Magnolia ISD students will be featured throughout their 650 nationwide stores, 750,000 catalogs, emails and other direct marketing.
