Magnolia West High School junior Emily Merner participated this year in Lone Star College Leadership High School-Montgomery County. This program is a leadership development and diversity awareness program for selected students in Montgomery County. Emily began Leadership High in October with a Leadership Skills retreat and has attended monthly Saturday sessions. She recently graduated from the program on April 8. She has met leaders in the community in a variety of settings and participated in community service events like helping prepare meals at the Montgomery County Food Bank.
Magnolia High School sophomores Caitlin Martinucci and Madeline Demny have been selected to participate in this year’s HOBY leadership program. HOBY is an organization dedicated to building and equipping the leaders of tomorrow. Martinucci and Demny were nominated by their teachers for their leadership in the classroom and on campus. They will attend this summer’s HOBY Youth Leadership Conference hosted on the University of Houston campus schedule June 16-18.
