The students went back to school on Wednesday, September 20 and are attending half-day classes at either the North Orange Baptist Church or at the high school. Magnolia ISD’s goal is to raise funds so the LCM administration can purchase items such as band instruments, athletic uniforms, and various equipment for the students.
At the Magnolia Bowl football game on Friday, October 20, the district will conclude the fundraiser by having all the proceeds from that night’s game go to this cause.
Superintendent Pauline Hargrove at LCM and her administrative staff were overwhelmed when Magnolia ISD Superintendent Dr. Todd Stephens brought the idea to her. “We are blessed as a district and our community has been so supportive of helping some of our teachers and staff get back on their feet after Harvey. Now is our turn to support a district that has a long recovery process ahead of them this year,” explained Dr. Stephens.
