District Honored by the Texas Association of School Nutrition

Magnolia, Texas (June 29, 2017) – Texas Association of School Nutrition (TASN) honored Magnolia ISD Child Nutrition Department with two awards this year at the annual conference held at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. Magnolia ISD was one of two districts in the state to receive the award for increasing the breakfast and lunch participation by 10% or more and the only district to receive the Nutrition Education Award for a Single Site during the 2016-2017 school year.

STAAR Results

Your child recently took the STAAR assessment or End of Course Exams (EOC) in March and/or May during the 2016-2017 school year. The results of the STAAR assessment for grades 3 - 8 will be available online on June 14, 2017. The results of the EOC assessment will be available on June 13, 2017.

Smith Elementary Administrators to Attend Harvard Summer Institute

Magnolia, Texas (June 8, 2017) –Raise Your Hand Texas, a nonprofit working to strengthen and improve public education, is sponsoring 110 school leaders – including individual principals and school and district teams from 39 districts, and Education Service Center representatives – for summer leadership programs at The Principals’ Center at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Principal Letty Roman and Assistant Principal Dion Rivera from Smith Elementary, and Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum Dr. Anita Hebert are among those headed to Harvard this summer.

Magnolia ISD Honors the 2017 Teachers of the Year

Magnolia, Texas (June 1, 2017) – Magnolia ISD named Natashia Foglesong from Williams Elementary and Nicole Riley from Magnolia West High as the 2017 Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year at the May 18 banquet held at Magnolia High School. The district honored the Teachers, Paraprofessionals and new this year Rookies of the Year from each of the 15 campuses at the annual banquet.

Glenn and Lorie Addison Fund MISD Science Fair Winners

Magnolia, Texas (June 1, 2017) – For a fourth year, Glenn and Lorie Addison of Magnolia Funeral Home donated $3,150 to award this year’s Magnolia ISD science fair winners. During the May 15 school board meeting, Mr. Addison presented Chromebooks to all the first place winners in the district.

Graduation Information

Magnolia ISD graduation ceremonies are scheduled for Saturday, May 27 at Reed Arena in College Station. Magnolia High at 3 p.m. and Magnolia West at 6 p.m.
