Magnolia ISD Cosmetology Students and Advisors Earn Statesman Award

Magnolia, Texas (June 13, 2016) – Magnolia High School cosmetology students Anahi Rubio, Lauren Decoux, and Misty Wunsch attended the SkillsUSA Texas Summer Leadership Conference at MO Ranch in Hunt, Texas from June 5 to June 9. SkillsUSA advisors Jessica Vaughan from Magnolia High School and Marliee Smith from Magnolia West High School also attended the career and technology conference in support of these students. The conference focused on leadership skills, sacrifice, perseverance, and dedication.

Magnolia Magic Special Olympics Basketball Team Wins Gold

Magnolia, Texas (June 8, 2016) – The Magnolia Independent School District Special Olympics basketball team, Magnolia Magic , competed in the Texas Special Olympics Summer Games competition in Arlington on May 26 through May 29. This event is the state competition for Special Olympics and the team competed in a 5 team league.

Magnolia High School One-Act Play State Results

Magnolia, Texas (May 31, 2016) – Congratulations to the 2016 Magnolia High School One-Act Play Company that won 4th Place at the 5A State One-Act Play Competition last Tuesday in Austin. In addition, Jacob Edwards was named to the State All-Star Cast (Top 8 in Texas) and Amy Kramr State Honorable Mention Cast (Top 16)! Rod Sheffield, theatre arts teacher and director, is extremely proud of the entire company giving their best performance at the State Meet.

Bear Branch Elementary Dedicates Science Lab to Beloved Student

Magnolia, Texas (May 31, 2016) – Rachel Turnage was admired for her kindness, determination and strength, and had a love for science. She was a fourth grader at Bear Branch Elementary who passed away earlier this year after a long battle with cancer. On Thursday, May 26, 2016, the school held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the dedication of the Bear Branch Elementary Rachel Turnage Science Lab.

Magnolia High School UIL Academic State Medalists

Magnolia, Texas (May 31, 2016) - The Magnolia High School UIL Academic team had 13 students qualify to compete at the state meet held in Austin on May 23-25. In order to qualify for the state meet, these students had to place in the top six at the district level and the region level. Magnolia High School had students competing at the state meet in Accounting, Computer Applications, Computer Science, Science, Journalism – Feature & Editorial Writing, and Speech & Debate – CX Debate & Informative Writing. Magnolia High School is very proud of all our state competitors and congratulates them on their achievements to qualify for the state meet.
