Magnolia High School Principal Jeff Springer Announces Retirement

Jeff Springer, the principal of Magnolia High School for the past 14 years, announced he will retire at the end of the 2015-2016 school year. Springer, who has 34 years in education, made the announcement to his staff on Thursday, March 3. Springer is currently working on his Doctorate in Transformational Leadership and will be the Minister of Discipleship at Wildwood United Methodist Church in Magnolia.

Magnolia ISD Communications Director Honored at State Conference

Magnolia, Texas (March 1, 2016) – The Texas School of Public Relations Association (TSPRA) honored public education communicators from across the state for excellence in district communications at the 54th Annual TSPRA Conference on February 24, 2016 in Horseshoe Bay, Texas. Director of Communications for Magnolia ISD was honored with five Gold Star Awards and received three Best in Category.

Magnolia ISD Students Advance to State Science Fair

Magnolia, Texas (February 29, 2016) – Magnolia ISD students competed in the 57th Annual Regional Science Engineering Fair of Houston this past weekend. Students from 7th grade through 12th grade defended their original science research before a panel of engineers and scientists. Several Magnolia ISD students are advancing to the State Science Fair in San Antonio March 31- April 2, 2016.

Magnolia ISD Student Leadership Visits with Leaders at the State Capitol

Magnolia, Texas (February 26, 2016) – The student leadership students from Magnolia and Magnolia West High Schools traveled to Austin on Tuesday, February 16 to meet with local elected officials and to get an in-depth look at the operation of our state government. The 24 students along with staff and Superintendent Dr. Todd Stephens spent a full day at the Capitol meeting with state representative, chief of staff and district personnel.

Magnolia High School Hosts 8th Annual UIL Academic Meet

Magnolia High School hosted the 8th Annual UIL Academic meet February 12 - 13, 2016. This was the largest to date with 33 area schools attending with almost 900 students competing in over 1,300 entries. The success of this meet is due to the involvement of the entire school. The meet consisted of school from 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A and 6A conferences resulting in intense competition.

Magnolia High School National Merit Finalists

Congratulations to Magnolia High School seniors Sarah Swift and Jay Martin for being named National Merit Finalists. They are now qualified to be considered for some 7,400 Merit Scholarships. National Merit Scholarship Corp will begin mailing scholarship offerings in March.
