TEAM UP Parent Engagement Night: Dangers of Social Media

Magnolia, Texas (January 9, 2019) - Magnolia ISD will host the next TEAM UP (Together Educating All Magnolia ISD) Parent Engagement night in partnership with Yes to Youth-Montgomery County Youth Services (MCYS) on the Dangers of Social Media on Thursday, January 31 at 6:30 p.m. at the Magnolia Event Center. We will have both English and Spanish presentations and ask that only children above the age of 10 attend.

First District in the U.S. to Complete Transportation Training with Homeland Security

Magnolia, Texas (October 22, 2018) - Earlier this year, Magnolia ISD was selected to pilot a safety and security training specifically designed for school transportation departments. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security recognized the need for training components necessary for districts to add another level of security checks for their drivers. On October 22, the transportation department had a follow-up training with Homeland Security.

MISD Implements New Safety Training for All Staff

Magnolia, Texas (October 11, 2018) - Magnolia ISD recently completed an extensive, interactive safety training across the district with ARC -- Aware (of your surroundings), Ready (to act in a threatening situation), and Capable (of doing what needs to be done to survive). The training started in August with our constables and secondary campuses and recently wrapped up at the end of September with the elementary campuses and the administration office.

Trustee Participates in TASB Leadership Program

(Austin) – Kelly McDonald, trustee from Magnolia ISD joined 34 other school board
members from across Texas September 27-29 at the kickoff session of the Leadership TASB class of 2019. Selected by the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB), the group is participating in a yearlong education leadership study program. These trustees represent school districts of all sizes, with student populations of 114 to 215,408, and reflect a similar range of property wealth.

Magnolia, Texas (October 8, 2018) – The 34th Annual Magnolia ISD Livestock Show was held on September 21 - 22, 2018 at the Magnolia ISD Ag Barn. Thanks to the strong support of the Magnolia community, this year’s show sales reached $269,500.

MISD Honors Veterans with 9th Annual Flags for Our Heroes

Magnolia, Texas (October 8, 2018) – Students, parents and staff from Magnolia ISD will meet on Saturday, November 3 at 9 a.m. to honor the memories of the United States soldiers who have been laid to rest at the Houston National Cemetery. This is the 9th year Flags for Our Heroes will honor our military by placing over 7,000 flags at the cemetery.
