Magnolia ISD Medical Students Tour Tomball Regional Medical Center Facilities

On Thursday, December 10, Tomball Regional Medical Center (TRMC) hosted a tour for forty students from Magnolia ISD’s (MISD) Certified Nursing Assistant Program to expose students to careers in the medical field.

Arranged by MISD and TRMC, the tour included two of the hospital’s off-site departments, the Affinity Emergency Center at Magnolia and Affinity Imaging Center at Magnolia, as well as local family practice clinic, Affinity Medical Associates.

eSchoolPLUS Home Access Center (HAC) has a Customer Update

SunGard, the owners of the application eSchoolPLUS, has released a customer support update. SunGard has become aware of an application marketed as “easyHAC,” which is available in the iTunes store.

The eSchoolPLUS Family app that MISD provides through SunGard is free to all parents and students and the appropriate security and safeguards are in place to protect student confidential information.

Doty Named Finalist for 2015 Coach of the Year

Magnolia High School head football coach Sterling Doty has been named as a finalist for the Touchdown Club of Houston 2015 Coach of the Year. There were 37 local 5A and 6A coaches nominated this year and Doty is among the top ten based on his team’s outstanding record, but also for his continued contributions made to his school and community.

Christmas in the Barn

The Magnolia High School CTE students and faculty will be hosting Christmas in the Barn on Friday, December 11 from 5 - 7 p.m. in the ag barn at Magnolia High School.

Future Educators Advanced to State Competition

The student organization TAFE (Texas Association of Future Educators) at Magnolia West High School recently competed at the Region 6 Competition. Students from Conroe High School, The Woodlands High School, College Park High School, Huntsville High School, Porter High School and Caney Creek High School competed in the regional event.

BBJH Students Selected for All-Region Band

The last two weekends, members of the Bear Branch Junior High (BBJH) band participated in the audition process for the Texas Music Educators Association Region IX Junior High All-Region Bands and Orchestras. Close to 2,000 students from the North Houston area including Spring, Klein, Tomball, Conroe, Willis, Huntsville, and Montgomery were involved in the audition. Students began learning the audition material the first week of school and spent countless hours practicing.
