Magnolia ISD Business Professional of America Students Advance to State

Magnolia, Texas (February 1, 2016) – Magnolia ISD (MISD) Business Professionals of America (BPA) students competed Saturday, January 30 in the Area 5, Region 2 Regional Leadership Conference. Many advancing to state advanced in both the individual event and team event. MISD is proud to have 20 students who will be representing the district at the state competition to be held in early March in Corpus Christi.

Magnolia West Academic Decathlon Team Advances to State

Magnolia, Texas (February 1, 2016) – Magnolia ISD sent teams from each of the two high schools Friday, January 29 to compete in the Academic Decathlon competitions at Bryan High School. Coaching each of their respective teams this year was Catherine Page from Magnolia West High School and Anthony Lee from Magnolia High School.

Magnolia High Senior Candidate for Presidential Scholars Program

Magnolia, Texas (January 29, 2016) – Magnolia High School senior Jay Martin has been selected as a candidate for the United States Presidential Scholars Program. The program was established in 1964, by Executive Order of the President, to recognize and honor some of our nation’s most distinguished graduating seniors. The committee identifies approximately 4,000 candidates each year based on their academic achievement and having scored exceptionally well on the SAT or the ACT.

Magnolia, Texas (January 29, 2016) –Magnolia Education Foundation (MEF) had the honor of surprising teachers and their principals last week with the announcement of the 2015-2016 MEF teacher grant winners. All the grant winners will be recognized at the February 8, Magnolia ISD School Board meeting.

MISD Science Fair Awards

Magnolia, Texas (January 29, 2016) – Magnolia ISD held its 12th annual Science Fair on Saturday, January 16 at Magnolia West High School. Students placing first, second or third place are eligible to advance to the Science Engineering Fair of Houston at the end of February.

Magnolia ISD held its annual Rodeo Art Show sponsored by the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Congratulations to all of these students! Their work will be on display at NRG Arena for the duration of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

Conroe Art League Spotlights Magnolia West Students in Art Show

Magnolia, Texas (January 20, 2016) –Students in the Magnolia West Art Department participated on Saturday, January 16 in the Conroe Art League Student Art Show. Senior Amanda Massey placed 2nd winning $300 for her artwork "Brave's Lost Land.” Abby Hawkins won Honorable Mention for her artwork "In the Shadows,” and Alexa Vulgamott won Honorable Mention for her artwork titled "Rage.” Congratulations to these outstanding artists.
