Magnolia ISD Receives Grant for Campus Clinics

The Magnolia ISD Nursing Department is the recipient of a $16,000 grant from the Tomball Health Coalition. MISD was awarded the grant to purchase new equipment, update or replace older equipment, and supplies. All 15 MISD campuses will benefit from the grant with the students being the ultimate beneficiary—having the best equipment and receiving the best quality care a school district can provide.

Magnolia High School Sends UIL Debate Students to State

Magnolia High School Debate students recently competed in the District 19-5A Cross Examination Debate Spring Meet. The team of Amanda Sass and Emily Ward placed first and the team of Hardy Gatlin and Cameron Wilson placed second at the meet. Both teams will advance to the UIL State Meet in Austin.

MISD Places Top in District Academic Decathlon

Magnolia High School and Magnolia West High School Acadec Teams competed January 30 - 31 against 25 Houston area schools in the Region VI Academic Decathlon. The competition was held at George Ranch High School with this year’s theme New Alternatives in Energy: Ingenuity and Innovation. Magnolia ISD high schools took high honors in the competition taking Second and Third Place Overall (respectively) in the District.

Magnolia West DECA Students Advance to State

The DECA organization from Magnolia West High School is going to state competition with a record number of students this year, 25. This year MWHS has the most students advancing to state since the program started four years ago. The DECA program, a business and marketing organization, participated in the district competition at The Woodlands College Park High School on January 17. The state competition will be held in Dallas on February 25-27.

A Big Catch for Magnolia West High School

Magnolia, Texas (January 22, 2015) – Something “fishy” is going on in the halls of Magnolia West High School and if the founding members of the first Magnolia West Angler Club fishing team (MWAC), have their way, they will be winning a state fishing tournament by the end of their first season.

Magnolia Education Foundation Awards Teacher Grants

Magnolia, Texas (January 13, 2015) –Magnolia Education Foundation (MEF) had the honor of surprising 19 teachers and their principals last week with the announcement of the 2014-2015 MEF teacher grant winners. The grant winners were recognized at the January Magnolia ISD School Board meeting.
