Magnolia High School UIL Academics - Region 3-5A Championship

Magnolia, Texas (April 12, 2017) The Magnolia High School UIL Academic team won the Region 3-5A Championship at the region meet held April 7 - 8. This is the first time in Magnolia High School history that this title has been won. The school has been the region runner-up three times in the past: 2009, 2015 and 2016. This championship title is a huge achievement for the students and coaches and an incredible honor for Magnolia High School!

Magnolia High School One-Act Play is State Bound

Magnolia, Texas (April 10, 2017) –Congratulations to the 2017 Magnolia High School One-Act Play Company as they placed in the top two of the 5A Region which advances the group to State. This is the 9th year in a row the students have gone to Region and the 2nd year in a row the students are competing at State. The students will perform on Thursday, April 14 at 4:30 p.m. at the Round Rock Performance Center in Austin.

Magnolia Jr High Students Develop Online Reward Program

Magnolia, Texas (April 4, 2017) –Magnolia Junior High students Zack Fisher and Jacob Pendergraff have developed a new web-based program for tracking the Mustang Money campus reward system. Coach Lundin Matthews, who teaches web design and coding, challenged his students early this year to develop an online system for administrators and teachers to add and remove dollars and for students to track reward balances.

Kindergarten Round-Up Dates Announced

Magnolia ISD has scheduled registration dates for children who will begin Kindergarten in 2017-2018. Kindergarten Round-Up will take place at each of the elementary campuses May 3 - 4 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Registration is come-and-go with no appointment necessary.

Magnolia High School UIL Academics District Champions

Magnolia, Texas (April 3, 2017) - The Magnolia High School UIL Academic Team won the District 20-5A Championship title on March 25 for the fourth year in a row! This is the seventh time in the last ten years that Magnolia High School has been the district champion. The school’s team had 77 competitors entered in the meet that competed in 21 academic events. The team came home with 49 students placing in scoring positions and 33 of these qualified to advance to the region meet. The total points earned by the high school was 570 points – incredible!

Texas Department of Agriculture Recognizes District for Success in Local Products Challenge

Magnolia, Texas (March 29, 2017) – Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller and the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) today honored Magnolia ISD Child Nutrition Department with a Best of the Bunch Award for its achievement in Commissioner Miller’s 2016 Local Products Challenge. Winners of this award successfully incorporated local ingredients from Texas in at least three of the following meal components: milk, protein, fruits, vegetables or grains. These winning schools also offered students an opportunity to learn about agriculture and local food.

Registration Open for Adventures Summer Camps

Magnolia, Texas (March 28, 2017) –Magnolia ISD is excited to offer weekly summer camps as part of the Adventures Program implemented at the beginning of the school year. The weekly Adventure Summer Camps are for students ages 5 – 12. The camps will begin June 5 and end the week of August 7.

Magnolia West High School Students Create a Volunteer Day

Magnolia, Texas (March 10, 2017) –Students at Magnolia West High School participated in a volunteer day project called West Serves 2017 on Saturday, March 4. The volunteer day consisted of approximately 200 students working Saturday morning on various service projects in the community and school district.

2017 Bond Refunding Saves Taxpayers $6.2 Million

Magnolia, Texas (March 9, 2017) – During the March 6 school board meeting, the board approved the refunding of the 2007 bonds. Through refunding of these bonds, the district saves $5 million dollars and by shortening the schedule 5 years, this adds an additional $1.2 million, bringing the total savings to $6.2 million.
