Magnolia ISD to Honor the School Lunch Heroes Serving Healthy Meals

Between preparing healthy food, adhering to strict nutrition standards, navigating student food allergies, and offering service with a smile, Magnolia ISD nutrition professionals have a lot on their plate. To celebrate their hard work and commitment, Magnolia ISD schools celebrated the fifth annual School Lunch Hero Day on May 5. This day, celebrated annually since 2013, was designated by The School Nutrition Association and Jarrett Krosoczka, author of the “Lunch Lady” graphic novel series. School Lunch Hero Day provides an opportunity for parents, students, school staff and communities to thank those who provide healthy meals to 30 million of America’s students each school day.

Magnolia High School Students to Compete at National Conference

Magnolia, Texas (May 10, 2017) – The Business Professionals of America (BPA) chapter at Magnolia High School has qualified to compete at the BPA National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida on May 10 - 14. Magnolia High School will be represented by four outstanding students – Logan Bray, Kimberley Duncan, Andrew Nunn, and Jacob Sass.

Magnolia High School Students Medal at State in UIL Academics

Magnolia, Texas (May 1, 2017) – Magnolia High School UIL Academics team was represented by 12 students at the UIL Academic State Meet at UT in Austin on April 21 and 22. These students qualified to compete at this level by placing in the top 6 at the district meet and the top 3 at the region meet. At the state meet, Magnolia High School had entries qualifying in these events: Accounting, Computer Science, Feature Writing, Science and Ready Writing.

Bear Branch Elementary Provides a ‘Rest Stop’ for Monarch Butterflies

Magnolia, Texas (April 24, 2017) - Bear Branch Elementary School and the Junior Master Gardening Club (JMG) have been working to establish a Monarch Waystation Program in their campus garden. Each fall, hundreds of millions of Monarch butterflies migrate to Mexico where they wait out the winter until springtime. By creating and maintaining a Monarch Waystation or habitat, the campus is participating in conservation. The Monarch migration is one of the world’s natural wonders.

Magnolia ISD Parent Leadership Honored

Magnolia, Texas (April 13, 2017) – Magnolia ISD Parent Leadership cohort was honored Monday, April 10 during the regular School Board Meeting. Superintendent Dr. Todd Stephens and the Magnolia ISD School Board honored the 8th leadership cohort with a presentation of plaques in recognition of their commitment to learning more about the fundamental workings of the district.

Magnolia ISD Announces New Head Coaches

Magnolia, Texas (April 12, 2017) –Magnolia ISD is pleased to announce the selection of three high school head coaches. Derek Cain has been named the head boys basketball coach at Magnolia High School, Ashley Farris has been named the head volleyball coach at Magnolia High and Emily Buckley has been named the head volleyball coach at Magnolia West.

Magnolia High School UIL Academics - Region 3-5A Championship

Magnolia, Texas (April 12, 2017) The Magnolia High School UIL Academic team won the Region 3-5A Championship at the region meet held April 7 - 8. This is the first time in Magnolia High School history that this title has been won. The school has been the region runner-up three times in the past: 2009, 2015 and 2016. This championship title is a huge achievement for the students and coaches and an incredible honor for Magnolia High School!
