Magnolia ISD Student Leadership Visit to the Capitol Creates Unique Learning Opportunity

Magnolia, Texas (February 9, 2017) – Superintendent Dr. Todd Stephens’ vision of a student leadership program focused on government and civic leadership continues to grow and prepare our future leaders. On Tuesday, February 7, the student leadership cohort from Magnolia High and Magnolia West High Schools traveled to Austin to meet with local elected officials and to get an in-depth look at the operation of our state government. The 32 students along with school board members Kristi Baker and Joe Duncan, and Superintendent Dr. Todd Stephens spent a full day at the State Capitol meeting with state representatives and legislative staff members.

Magnolia, Texas (January 19, 2017) – Magnolia ISD held its annual Rodeo Art Show on Saturday, January 14 at Magnolia West High School. The annual event sponsored by the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo featured artwork from MISD elementary, junior high and high school students.

District Science Fair Winners Advance to Region

Magnolia, Texas (January 18, 2017) – Magnolia ISD held its 13th annual Science Fair on Saturday, January 14 at Magnolia West High School for the district junior and high school students. The students who placed first, second and third place are now eligible to advance to the regional Science Engineering Fair of Houston at the end of February.

Magnolia, Texas (January 11, 2017) –Magnolia ISD Board of Trustees held their monthly board meeting on Monday, January 9. Several students and groups were recognized at the meeting.

The January Students of the Month are Magnolia 6th Grade Campus student Rebekah York and Magnolia Parkway Elementary student Ava Violette.

Bear Branch Junior High

Magnolia, Texas (December 28, 2016) Early this morning, Magnolia Fire Department extinguished a fire at Bear Branch Junior High. Thankfully, no one was hurt. The fire was on the second floor in one of the general classrooms. There is smoke and water damage to classroom and to the two adjoining classrooms. Magnolia ISD will be working for the next week to prepare for the return of teachers on Monday, January 2 and students on Wednesday, January 4.

Magnolia ISD Receives $15,000 Grant for Campus Clinics

Magnolia, Texas (December 9, 2016) – The Magnolia ISD Nursing Department is the recipient of a $15,000 grant from the Tomball Health Coalition. MISD was awarded the grant to purchase new equipment, update or replace older equipment, and supplies. All 15 MISD campuses will benefit from the grant with the students being the ultimate beneficiary—having the best equipment and receiving the best quality care a school district can provide.
