Magnolia ISD Off-Campus Physical Education
In accordance with the Texas Education Agency, Magnolia ISD offers an Off-Campus Physical Education Program for secondary students attending Magnolia High School, Magnolia West High School, Magnolia Jr. High, and Bear Branch Jr. High.
Through approved providers, students may participate in physical education programs outside of their school and receive state approved physical education credit for these activities.
There are two levels of OCPE offered:
- Level One: Olympic-level participation and/or competition which includes a minimum of 15 hours per week of highly intense, professional, supervised training. Students involved in this level may be dismissed from school one hour per day.
- Level Two: Normal level participation of a minimum of five hours of participation and/or competition per week. Students involved in this level may not be dismissed from any part of the regular school day.
Any student wishing to participate in the MISD Off-Campus Physical Education program must do so through the campus counselor and have the appropriate forms on file as per proper procedures. These forms can be obtained through the counselor’s office or from this website.
Applications from commercial providers must be submitted to the office of the MISD Athletic Director no later than June 30th of the preceding school year for School Board approval. Any activities offered through the MISD Physical Education Program or through MISD Athletics will not be approved as OCPE options.
