Dr. Anita Hebert began serving as the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction in 2012. She came to Magnolia ISD in 2002 as principal to open Nichols Sawmill Elementary. She then served as Director of Language Arts from 2004-2012. She has been in the role of Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction since 2012.
Prior to coming to Magnolia, Dr. Hebert was a teacher in elementary and junior high for 13 years. She was an elementary assistant principal for three years and principal for six years. She has been named a Golden Apple Educator in the Waco area and has served on the Editorial Board of the National Association of Elementary School Principals. She has published two articles and presented at several conferences.
Dr. Hebert grew up in the small west Texas farming community of Littlefield, Texas. She holds her BA in Elementary Education/English and her Master's Degree in English from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX. In addition, she completed the Educational Administration Certification program from Texas A&M and Lamar University and Superintendent Certification from the University of Texas program. She earned the Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX.
Her family has been part of the Magnolia community for 15 years, and their two sons are graduates of Magnolia High School.
