Magnolia ISD requires random drug testing of any student in grades 9-12 who chooses to participate in school-sponsored extracurricular activities or obtain a parking permit. In order to participate in a school
-sponsored extracurricular activities or have driving privileges,both the parent and student must sign the consent form authorizing the student's participation in the Magnolia ISD's random drug-testing program. For students aged 18 and older, only the student's signature is required.
The purpose of the drug-testing program are to prevent injury, illness, and harm resulting from the use of illegal and performance-enhancing drugs or alcohol; help enforce a drug-free educational environment; deter student use of illegal and performance-enhancing drugs or alcohol; and educate students regarding the harm caused by the use of illegal drugs.
