MISD Nurses Receive $15,000 Grant from Tomball Health Coalition

The grant allows the department to purchase larger ticket items generally not supported through an annual operating budget. Rob Stewart, director of student services shared, “This grant has benefited our nurses and campuses by having allowing us to purchase some of the best equipment for our schools. Our nursing staff can administer the best quality care a school district can provide.”

This year’s grant equipment includes emergency trauma kit items, an AED for an elementary campus, and the latest technology for the vision screening exams. Other examples of items approved through the grant include blood pressure monitors, medical examination table, and medical carts.
The grant funds will benefit the health and wellness of all Magnolia ISD students. The Tomball Health Coalition is a charitable organization formed in January 2013 to promote the health and wellness in Magnolia, Tomball, Waller and surrounding area.
