Reading Jubilee a Huge Success!

Alison Love, Magnolia Elementary librarian shared, “We could not be happier about the turn out for this event! Our goal is to create a culture of reading and it was apparent by the turn out that reading is important to our families.”
Students attending had the opportunity to play various games to win books, have their face painted, meet storybook characters including Clifford, Pete the Cat, and Dog Man, and meet authors.
Thank you to all of the sponsors including the Magnolia Education Foundation and Scholastic for each being a $5,000 title sponsor. Thank you to all the elementary and intermediate campuses for their sponsorships through community and business donations. A special thank you to Constable Chris Jones of Precinct 5 Constable's Office for grilling 1,000 hot dogs donated by HEB Magnolia.

Each student also received a cinch sack provided by Commissioner Charlie Riley, Davam Urgent Care, Hometown Dentistry and MISD After School Adventures.
Trisha Hacker, Smith Elementary librarian, shared, “As a community we are making a difference by creating a culture of literacy and a love of reading. We look forward to bringing this event to our families again next year.”
