Regional Science and Engineering Fair Results

Congratulations to the following students:
 
Natalie Smith, 8th-grade Magnolia Junior High - won specialty awards from the Consumer Energy Education Foundation and the Jacob's Science Foundation. Won 1st in Environmental Science Category which qualified her to move on to State. She also won the Grand Champion award over all the Junior division projects with her project where she created bio leather out of Kombucha.
 
Travis Escobar, 7th-grade Bear Branch Junior High - won the Peggy Levy Creativity Award
 
Kaden Colin, 7th-grade Bear Branch Junior High - recognized by the Boy Scouts of America Sam Houston Council
 
Mitchel Colvin, 8th-grade Bear Branch Junior High & Tyler Schmidt, 8th-grade Bear Branch Junior High - were recognized by the Jacobs Foundation, a division of NASA
 
Tyler Schmidt, 8th-grade Bear Branch Junior High - won Honorable Mention and qualified for State with his project on cleaning up microplastics
 
Kendall McBride, 8th-grade Bear Branch Junior High - was recognized by the Health Physics Society and won 3rd place in her category qualifying for State with her project about Electromagnet Radiation
