The 14-acre future elementary site is located along FM 1488 and State Highway 249 Tollway in the new Audubon Magnolia Development where the first single-family homes are set to be completed in January 2021. The land price includes substantial site work preparation and completion of underground utilities totaling $1,681,850. The proceeds to purchase the land are coming from the 2015 Bond that included funds for future school sites.
The Audubon Development is a 3,300-acre mixed-use development with approximately 5,000 single-family lots as well as commercial sites. This master-planned community will be on both sides of FM 1488 near Mill Creek Road. Based on the capacity of current schools and the future growth in the area, these factors will determine when the future elementary school will be needed.
