Carter Waugh is soon-to-be a 7th-grader at Bear Branch Junior High but is already helping to leave a legacy at Bear Branch Intermediate.
Recently, he made a donation of $365 to Bear Branch Intermediate as part of his Critts Cares program.
"I donated because I want to give back to my community because it's really important to me," he said.
$2 from each sale of a pair of Critts goes into the Critts Cares program to make sure that kids have access to music, art, and other creative learning programs.
Carter spoke with several of his teachers to learn about what needs and wants they had. He hopes that some of the money can go for PE equipment.
"Critts for All Critters, it's for everybody," said Carter. "I think it's important to believe in yourself and follow your dreams."
Carter is the owner and creator of Critts, LLC a unique show company that combines the comfort of flip flops and clogs with "Adventurability", a word he trademarked that means you can run, climb, and more in these shoes. At the age of 8 Carter approached his dad with a business plan, and off they went! You can read his full story on his Critts website.
