Director of Technology
Magnolia ISD has named Brad Raphelt as the Director of Technology for the district. He has been the Assistant Principal for Magnolia Intermediate for the past two years and has been in education since 2007.
Before joining Magnolia ISD, he was a Business/Technology teacher and Digital Learning Specialist for Klein ISD. He was responsible for supporting and implementing instructional technology for the classroom and providing professional development for teachers. He worked with administrators to determine the needs of the campus as it related to technology.
Raphelt has an extensive background in the military, which parallels his educational experience. He has over 23 years of service, with 19 years of experience in supervisory, managerial, and leadership roles with two combat tours (Iraq and Afghanistan.) He currently holds the rank of Major in the Texas Army National Guard and serves as the Operations Officer for the 172nd Brigade Engineer Battalion.

He holds two Bachelor’s degrees from Abilene Christian University, one in Business Finance and one in Human Resource Management. He earned his Master’s degree in Educational Management from Concordia University Texas.
Magnolia ISD has named Christina Coats as the new Assistant Director of Special Services for Compliance/504. She has 14 years of experience in education and has been in the district for four years as the Coordinator of Assessment for Special Services. Coats has extensive knowledge of compliance as well as State and Federal Special Education Law. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Asbury College and a Master’s in School Psychology from Trinity University.
Magnolia ISD has named Stacy Fikac as the new Assistant Director of Special Services for Elementary. She has been with the district for 13 years and most recently served as the Assistant Principal at Lyon Elementary. Her background is in special education as a teacher and department chair. Fikac has her Bachelor’s degree in Academic Studies with a minor in Special Education from Sam Houston State University and a Master's in School Counseling and Principal Certification from Lamar University.
Elementary Assistant Principals
An additional assistant principal position has been added to Lyon Elementary and Ellisor Elementary schools to help support the special programs located at these campuses.
Magnolia ISD has named Paul Howard as a new Assistant Principal at Ellisor Elementary. He will join the current Assistant Principal Anglea Martinez. Howard has been in education for 14 years, with the past four in administration. In addition, Howard has been with MISD for the past two years as the Assistant Principal at Magnolia Intermediate. He has taught social studies and coached in Cy-Fair ISD, Katy ISD, and Conroe ISD. He has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education.
Magnolia ISD has named Jennifer Harless the new Assistant Principal at Lyon Elementary. She has been in education for 15 years with 13 of those years in MISD serving as a teacher, math instructional coach, district math and science specialist, and most recently the academic coordinator at Magnolia Intermediate. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and a Master’s from Texas A&M University-Commerce.
Magnolia ISD has named Andrea Harper as the new Assistant Principal at Lyon Elementary. She has been in education for 21 years serving as a teacher, instructional specialist, behavior specialist, and most recently as Assistant Principal at Williams Elementary. Harper received a degree in Business Management from Georgia Tech and a Master's in Education from the University of Houston.
Magnolia ISD has named Ashley Tornberg as the new Assistant Principal at Williams Elementary. She has been in education for 16 years, with the last four years in Magnolia ISD. Most recently, Tornberg was the Math Instructional Coach at Magnolia Parkway Elementary. She has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and a Master’s in administrative leadership from Lamar University.
Intermediate Assistant Principal
Magnolia Intermediate’s new Assistant Principal is Jim Gassaway. He has been in education for 19 years. He has served as the Assistant Principal at Nichols Sawmill Elementary and Bear Branch Intermediate, and as the Principal at Bear Branch Elementary. He holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in educational leadership from Mississippi State University.
