Magnolia Education Foundation Awards Teacher Grants

Over $22,000 was awarded to four elementary schools and one to Magnolia West High School. The grants awarded included three in math, three in music, two in science and two in reading. A few examples of the grants awarded included an ethnic replica skulls to be used for forensic science, anatomy, AP-biology and biology, physiology, and geology; an interactive music whiteboard; literacy work stations for kindergarten; and Rekenreks for elementary math.

“This is always an exciting time for the foundation. The committee reviewed about 30 grants this year,” says MEF President Pam Rogers. “We would like to thank the community for supporting the foundation. We want to continue to award innovative teaching grants that benefit our students and teachers.”

Formed in 2001, MEF was founded to provide “tools for learning” and funds programs outside of the District budget to support excellence in education. MEF’s mission is to achieve academic excellence by developing financial resources though community involvement.
