December Board Recognitions

The December Students of the Month were Bear Branch Junior High student McKenna Castleberry and fifth grader Jackson Bland from Magnolia Elementary. McKenna is a well-rounded student, excelling in all academic areas. Her favorite subjects are English and Algebra. Her academic success earned her a spot in National Junior Honor Society. McKenna is multitalented, performing with the Honor Band one day and playing for the BBJH basketball team the next day.

Jackson Blank from Magnolia Elementary is a special young man who is simply a person of integrity, has a love of learning and has respect for others. Jackson is always the first to volunteer to help students, teachers and administrators. He is an all A student, serves as Student Council President, a member of the Chess and Math Clubs and competes in UIL competitions.

Community partner Emerus Community Hospital of Tomball honored both of the students of the month with a gift certificate for all of their hard work.

The J.L. Lyon Elementary Hand Bell Choir performed Christmas carols for the Board of Trustees. This is a new club made up of 5th graders lead by music teacher Mrs. Spann.

Coach Sterling Doty recognized the Magnolia High School Varsity Bulldogs Football team for a 10 – 2 overall record this season making this the first 10 win season in 50 years.

Coach Leslie Madison recognized the Magnolia High School Varsity Lady’s Volleyball team for a great season making Regional Finals Tournament. The team is Academic All District with six of the seven seniors Academic All State.
