Alpha Academy Teacher Selected for Texas A&M University Regional Collaborative

The regional program began this month and is scheduled to meet each month. The group will conclude the program in June with a Computer Science Summit in Austin and AP Computer Science workshop held at Texas A&M.

Ms. Rutledge has a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a teaching certificate from Sam Houston State University. She has been teaching secondary mathematics for 14 years with ten years in Magnolia ISD.

Ms. Rutledge says, “I enjoy teaching at Alpha Academy as I am able to help students individually in a small classroom setting. It is always exciting to see the students grasp math concepts and I am thrilled to be part of this computer science collaborative! I look forward to sharing my experience and learning with my students.”

Ms. Rutledge is currently working towards a Masters in Accounting and Finance at Sam Houston State University.
