Joyce Stewart Named Assistant Principal at Nichols Sawmill Elementary

“I am honored and excited to continue serving the Nichols Sawmill families and staff as the next Assistant Principal. Our students and staff are doing amazing things each day, and I am blessed to be a part of this incredible community,” stated Mrs. Stewart.

Mrs. Stewart has been with Magnolia ISD since 2005. She has taught first and fourth grade and is currently the librarian at Nichols Sawmill Elementary. She has held several leadership positions in the district including the lead for the Magnolia Edcamp professional development series, the lead for the Book Pop Drop Summer Reading Program, a member of the campus leadership team, and the sponsor for several student clubs at the campus. She was named Nichols Sawmill Elementary Teacher of the Year for 2012.
 
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Academic Studies from Sam Houston State University, a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University, and librarian certification from Sam Houston State University.

Mrs. Stewart and her husband, Marcus, are the parents of two Magnolia ISD graduates and have lived in the community since 1994.
