Mike Overman Named Director of District Event Center

“I am excited to be a part of this significant time as we prepare to open the new event center in our district and community. As a long-standing member of the Magnolia community, I look forward to working with our staff and the greater community to bring memorable events to our center,” stated Mr. Overman.

He has 16 years with Magnolia ISD as the head athletic trainer for Magnolia High School. As the head trainer, he spent hours of planning and working behind the scenes to ensure the smooth operation of practices and procedures. He was responsible for maintaining the high school athletic budget, developed athletic policies and procedures, managed 25 student athletic trainers and responsible for the ticket booth at all athletic events.
Mr. Overman has been an instructor with the American Red Cross since 2000. He is an Eagle Scout, which is the highest honor of the Boy Scouts, and a Vigil Honor member which is the highest honor achievement in the Order of the Arrow, a service organization of the Boy Scouts of America. This high mark of distinction honors exceptional service, personal effort, unselfish interest and distinguished contributions.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston and received his Master of Education from Lamar University.

He has participated for 16 years in the Rodeo Houston World Championship Bar-B-Que Cook-Off and has been one of the camp leaders at the Horseshoe Bend Scout Ranch hosting over 500 campers for seven weeks.
