Mike Metz Named Magnolia Jr. High Principal

Mike Metz has been selected as the Principal of Magnolia Junior High. Mr. Metz has worked in education for 11 years. He joins the district from Tomball ISD where he served as an Assistant Principal at Tomball High School since 2012. His previous educational leadership experience includes working as an Assistant Principal at Northpointe Intermediate School in Tomball ISD. Prior to serving as an administrator, Mr. Metz was the head boys soccer coach and Algebra 1 team lead in Tomball ISD. He entered the education profession as an 8th grade Math Teacher in Spring ISD. In 2007, he earned his Masters of education at Sam Houston State University. Mr. Metz is projected to receive his doctorate in Educational Leadership in May of 2015. Mr. Metz is the husband of 12 years to wife Jenny and proud father of his three children, Carly (8), Gracie (5), and Eli (3). The Metz family lives in the Magnolia area and attend Tomball Bible Church.

Summer Means Swimming - Does Your Child Know How?

With summer right around the corner, children will be spending more time around the water, and Magnolia ISD wants to make sure every child is safe. Magnolia I.S.D. and the Magnolia Aquatic Club is a partner with the United States Swimming Foundation - Make A Splash - an organization that offers learning to swim programs nationally.

Magnolia Magic Competes at State

Magnolia Magic traveled to Arlington, TX to compete in the 2014 Special Olympics Texas Summer Games. This state level event was held May 21-25 on the campus of University of Texas at Arlington.

In a recent letter to Charlie Riley, Superintendent Dr. Todd Stephens expresses how much Magnolia ISD is thankful for his nine years of service as a member of the Magnolia ISD Board of Trustees. His leadership and guidance has helped move MISD closer to our vision of becoming the Best District in Texas. His passion and devotion to the needs and concerns of our staff and teachers have helped make this a great place to come to work every day.
