Curriculum & Instruction Department
In Magnolia ISD, we believe in transforming the lives of our students through high quality learning experiences that support the needs of each student, from the time they join us in elementary school until they step off the graduation stage with a future ready to begin. Our caring and dedicated teachers are trained not only in providing a challenging curriculum and engaging lessons, but also in ways to inspire and develop the unique talents and abilities of students. From the core curriculum to the arts to the sports arena to career preparation, we seek to lift the vision of our students to a “best” they don’t yet know.
Our student achievement is measured in many ways, and we continuously strive to improve by studying results of not only the STAAR tests (State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness), but also of district-level ongoing assessments, PSAT, SAT, and ACT. Our instruction is student-driven, not test-driven, but we aim for our students’ success to shine in multiple avenues.
At the high school level, we offer programs of choice for students to be well-prepared for the future. We are the only school in Montgomery County to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) program of advanced study, and our Advanced Placement (AP) courses are open for all students. We are continuing to expand access to our Dual Credit courses through a partnership with Lone Star College-Montgomery, and our students have the opportunity to earn several industry certifications by the time they leave high school.
