English Language Arts

The English Language Arts and Reading Department (ELA) strives to ensure students are intellectually challenged for their learning level through an integrated curriculum rich with opportunities for students to grow as critical thinkers, writers, readers, speakers, listeners, and viewers. The ELA curriculum is constantly being adjusted as we seek the best strategies and effective tools to layer skills for understanding information, expressing thoughts through oral and written expression, reading and understanding multiple genres and using writing as a tool to inform, express and convey meaning. Through this process we hope all our students become life-long learners and ready for post educational or the career paths of their choice.
