Payroll Staff & Contact Information
General Information
Paychecks

- You can view your employee information such as pay stubs, time cards, leave banks, enter absences, update address and personal information.
Mandatory Deductions
- Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) - Full-Time Employees Only
- 457 (b) FICA Alternative - Substitutes and Variable Hour Employees Only
- Medicare - All Employees
- 1.45% of your gross salary
- This is not a deduction for social security benefits
- Child Support Payments are processed by payroll only when properly received from a county Child Support Office, from the Child Support Services division of the Attorney General's Office, or from an appropriate court of jurisdiction. It is the employee's responsibility to file a change of employment request with the State Child Support Office.

- To enroll, make changes, or view your benefits please login to the staff portal and visit the payroll page from there, once on payroll click on the benefits portal tab at the top of the page.

Benefits
All employees must enroll every year, even if you are not making changes or you are waiving benefits.

You may review your benefits by going to https://ffbenefits.ffga.com/magnoliaisd/. More inforamtion regarding benefits is avalable on the Staff Portal under the Benefits Portal section in Payroll
- Each year you are required to choose which of the eligible benefits you would like included in the pre-tax 125-cafeteria plan.
Benefits and changes in premiums for payroll will be effective for September 1.
- You must re-enroll each year for the un-reimbursed medical expense accounts and dependent care expense accounts, even if you choose the same amount.

Voluntary Retirement Savings Plans
Voluntary retirement savings plans allow employees to save money for retirement on a pre-tax or after-tax basis. There are several different types of investments and a number of representatives who are available to assist employees in establishing a voluntary retirement plan. You are welcome to call TCG with questions and to set up an account.

The different types of voluntary retirement savings plans available are:
- 403b
- 457
- 403b Roth
- 457 Roth
Teacher Retirement System of Texas
All employees eligible for TRS membership will contribute 8.25% of their gross salary to their retirement account with TRS. This amount will be deducted on a pre-tax basis.
All employees eligible for TRS membership will also contribute 0.65% of their gross salary after-tax to help fund the state health insurance.

Planning for Retirement
If you are planning to retire, you will need to contact the Teacher Retirement System of Texas and request a retirement packet, or you may complete the forms via your MyTRS account.
What does Payroll need from an employee who wants to retire?
- Email notifying payroll of your intention to retire from TRS
Please be aware TRS Retirement Processing can take up to 60 days after it has been received into their system. The district processes forms for TRS after all payroll processes are completed for the month. Please direct all pension inquiries to TRS.

FICA Alternative
All substitute and variable hour employees who have not retired from Teacher Retirement System of Texas and are not eligible for membership in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas will make a 6.2% pre-tax contribution into a 457(b) FICA Alternative Plan.
The 457(b) FICA Alternative Plan is reimbursable to employees who resign their position or become TRS eligible. Please contact TCG for more information.

If you are a former employee and need to access your employee records, you must go to Frontline Employee Service Center and register for a new account. Please refer to the instructions below to complete the registration process.
