Bond Proposal
The Facility Planning Committee met in the spring 2022 to help the district plan for the future and assess and prioritize the district's facility needs for:
- district growth and capacity
- facility assessment
- educational delivery and programs
- financial impact of bond options.
The committee comprised of parents, community and business leaders put together the following package. Magnolia ISD is able to issue these new bonds, if approved by voters, with no change to the existing tax rate.
Proposition A includes a new elementary school, a new intermediate school, and a new junior high school. Currently, three of the district's elementary schools and all intermediate and junior highs have reached 90% capacity. The district's current student enrollment exceeds 14,220 students. This represents an increase of more than 500 students since October 2021 and a growth rate that surpasses demographer's projections.
Proposition B is for artificial turf at the baseball and softball fields at both high schools.
