More than 600 teachers and classroom paraprofessionals from across the district participated in this year’s annual Teacher Pop-Up Shop, an event designed to support educators by providing free classroom essentials and fun instructional resources. The event offered staff the opportunity to “shop” at no cost for supplies that directly benefit students and classrooms throughout the year.

Thanks to the generous financial support of community partners, including the Magnolia Education Foundation, HEB, Colton, 5Point Credit Union, Indeco, and Tejas Office Products, the Pop-Up Shop was fully stocked with a wide variety of items. Educators selected everything from basic school supplies such as pencils and glue sticks to classroom storage solutions, posters, and engaging games. Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital also contributed by donating helpful items such as hand sanitizer, tissues, and hot and cold packs.

“We are so grateful for the support of our sponsors who continue to make this event possible,” said Superintendent Dr. Jason Bullock. “Like the items in the Pop-Up Shop, our teachers are essential, and to be able to provide an event that supports them and the important work they are doing feels amazing.”

In addition to free supplies, attendees had the chance to win exciting prizes donated by event sponsors. Giveaways included a $100 Amazon Wish List fulfilled by 5Point Credit Union and the Magnolia Education Foundation, Houston Astros tickets provided by Indeco, and a free campus luncheon courtesy of the Magnolia Education Foundation.

“The Magnolia Education Foundation is incredibly happy to support this event because it truly makes an impact on every teacher in the district,” said Becca Henry, President of the Magnolia Education Foundation. “When we help provide resources for classrooms, we’re ultimately supporting student success, and that’s what our mission is all about.”

Throughout the day, the Pop-Up Shop was filled with smiles and gratitude as educators left with supplies in hand and one less thing to worry about as they prepared their classrooms for students. The annual event continues to be a meaningful way for the district and its partners to show appreciation for educators and invest directly in teaching and learning.
