At a special Board meeting on June 10, 2025, the Board of Trustees approved the 2025-26 compensation plan presented by Assistant Superintendent of Operations Dr. Erich Morris. This year’s plan reflects our Board and administration’s appreciation for the dedication of our staff, especially our veteran teachers, and our commitment to maintaining competitive compensation across all employee groups.

This year’s legislative session brought additional state funding for teachers through House Bill 2 (HB2). For all staff pay raises not included in HB2, MISD will utilize local funds to provide much-needed pay increases. The expenditure efficiencies, including changes to transportation, the addition of Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses at the junior high level, and our administration’s focus on attendance, have enabled the district to provide pay raises for all employees

Highlights of the 2025–26 Compensation Plan

MISD continues to maintain a balanced budget and benefit from steady student enrollment, allowing us to invest in our most important asset—our staff. The plan includes:

  • A minimum raise of 4% for all staff;
  • A 5% raise for all hourly employees;
  • Additional compensation for veteran teachers to address the teacher pay gap in comparison to surrounding districts.
  • A one-time payment of $500 on September 15, 2025, to all full-time employees.

Teacher Compensation Increases

This year’s legislative session brought additional state funding for teachers through House Bill 2 (HB2), providing pass-through dollars for teachers with more than three years of experience. MISD is building on that support with additional raises to recognize our teachers' years of service and experience. The following raises are based on years of experience completed as of September 1, 2025.

Combined Raise (State + MISD) by Years of Experience:

Teacher Experience Level Total AVG Raise% Total AVG Dollar Increase

0–5 years 4.2% $2,500

6–10 years 8.5% $5,000

11–20 years 10.2% $6,215

21–25 years 11.6% $7,582

26+ years 13.2% $9,117

Compensation for Other Employee Groups

MISD is proud to include all staff in this compensation plan:

  • Hourly Employees: 5% raise
  • Other Professionals (e.g., nurses, counselors, librarians, administrators and SROs): 4% raise

This compensation plan reflects our continued commitment to supporting and valuing every employee across our district. Thank you for everything you do to support our students and community. We look forward to another great year ahead!
