Magnolia ISD is pleased to announce the successful passage of its 2026 bond proposition. In the election held on May 2, 2026, the community demonstrated its support for the district’s future, with 63% of voters casting ballots in favor of Proposition A.

The approved $465,688,326 single-bond proposition was developed after extensive listening sessions with the community. The bond focused on student instructional space, with 92% of the funding dedicated to facilities.

The passage of this bond allows MISD to move forward with the construction of three new facilities:

  • High School #3, to be located along the FM 1486 corridor (projected opening 2030).
  • Elementary #10 located in Kresston (projected opening 2028).
  • Elementary #11, location to be determined based on growth (projected opening 2029).

“This is a monumental day for our students and the entire Magnolia community," said Dr. Jason Bullock, Superintendent. "When we started this process, our goal was to listen first, and this result reflects a shared vision for our students’ future. Thank you to our parents and the community for placing your trust in us. By investing in these new schools today, we aren't just building classrooms; we're ensuring that every student who walks through our doors has the space and the resources to thrive as our district grows."

Dr. Bullock added, “We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the Facility Planning Committee. Their dedication and thoughtful input throughout this entire process were at the cornerstone of this successful proposal.”

Magnolia ISD remains committed to being a good steward of taxpayer dollars. Even with the passage of this bond, the district is maintaining the tax rate of $0.95. This tax rate remains one of the lowest in the greater Houston area.
As the district moves forward with new construction and campus renovations, it will provide regular updates on its progress. For more information and future updates on the bond projects, visit MagnoliaISD.org.
