Magnolia HS earns 1st place, Magnolia West earns 4th place
Saturday, October 22nd at Ray Maddry Stadium in Channelview ISD saw records set for the Magnolia ISD high school marching bands at the UIL Area marching contest. When results were announced, Magnolia High School was awarded first place, Area I champion, and Magnolia West earned fourth place, the highest placement in school history.
Both bands performed admirably for the multiple judges and large crowd. Magnolia high school’s production, Carpe Noctem (Seize the Night), and Magnolia West’s production, Gold Rush, was filled with content, pageantry, and artistry.
The Magnolia HS band is under the direction of Patrick Beavers, Lauren Kylberg, Anthony Jackson, and Kaila Spoonemoore with assistance from the Magnolia High School Band Booster Club.
The Magnolia West band is under the direction of Andrew Hicks, Kayla Ogden, Jordan Masters, and Justin Hike with assistance from the Magnolia West High School Band Boosters.
Bear Branch Junior High Students Place in TMEA All-Region Band
The BBJH Band is proud to announce the following members who earned inclusion in the 2022 TMEA Region 9 Middle School All-Region Band and All-Region Orchestra.
34 campuses participated in the audition with over 130+ students in the flute and clarinet rooms respectively. The final results include;
Grant Harris, 8th-grade clarinet player, earned 1st chair overall and earned the principal player chair in both the All-Region Symphony Orchestra and the All-Region Wind Ensemble.
Emily Neil, 8th-grade flute player, earned 7th chair in the Concert Band.
The Bear Branch band faculty are proud of Grant and Emily, and all the members who undertook the challenge to prepare for the audition. Grant’s private lesson instructor is Mr. Bob Price and Emily’s private lesson instructor is Mrs. Suzy Morrison.
Please mark your calendar to attend the All-Region orchestra on Saturday, November 19th at Klein Forest HS and the All-Region band concert on Saturday, December 10th at Klein Oak HS. Both concerts are free and open to all. Bring a friend and show your support.
