The Magnolia ISD band department is pleased to announce six junior high band students earned inclusion in the 2022 TMEA Region 9 All-Region Band after competing last Saturday against 34 area schools.
From Bear Branch JH, Emily Neil, 8th-grade flute player, earned 7th chair in the Concert Band after competing against 158 other students.
Grant Harris, 8th-grade clarinet player, earned 1st chair in the Wind Ensemble. His outstanding placement also earned him 1st chair in the Symphony Orchestra. Grant competed against 178 other students.
Jake Brosey, 8th-grade euphonium player, earned 2nd chair in the Wind Ensemble.
Parker Starnes, 8th-grade tuba player, earned 3rd chair in the Symphonic Band.
Elijah Baker, 8th-grade percussionist, earned 8th chair in the Concert Band.
From Magnolia JH, Shawn Armstrong, 7th-grade trombone player, earned 6th Chair in the Concert Band after competing with over 110 other students.
The staff, band students, and administration from both campuses are proud of and happy to see these six Magnolia ISD talented student musicians rewarded for their hours of preparation and hard work.

The Bear Branch Junior High Band is under the direction of Kevin Brewer, Kaila Spoonemore, and Aubrey Rollins. The Magnolia Junior High Band is under the direction of Emily Hicks, Amber McGowan, and Jordan Masters with assistance from Curt Hentrich.
