Congratulations to MHS's Aidan Clark on being named the 1st chair tenor trombone in the state
Kate Hope

Magnolia High senior Aidan Clark has been selected as the first chair tenor trombone for Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Jazz Ensemble 1. He earned first chair in the Pre-Area Zone and first chair at Area judging, beating out 78 other entries. Aidan is the first Magnolia ISD student to earn a chair in the TMEA All-State jazz band and will represent the state of Texas very well!

This is Aidan's second year earning a chair in the TMEA All-State Jazz process. Last year, he earned third chair in Jazz Ensemble 2. Aidan is also in his second year as lead trombonist in the Jazz Houston Youth Orchestra under the direction of Vincent Gardner, who is the lead trombonist for Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York. Aidan was the recipient of a two-week summer scholarship to attend Jazz at Lincoln Center's Summer Jazz Academy, the premier high school program for advanced high school jazz students.

Aidan is also a member of the Wind Symphony and Jazz Ensemble, a featured soloist in this year's UIL Area Marching Champion MHS marching band, and a member of the Chorale. He excels in academics and is a National Merit Commended Scholar.
