John Allbritton Named Principal at Magnolia High School
Magnolia High School has named John Allbritton as its new Principal. He currently serves as the Principal at Bear Branch Elementary and previously as the Assistant Principal at Bear Branch Intermediate.
Mr. Allbritton began his career in Cy-Fair ISD, where he served in various leadership roles over 17 years. He was an agriculture teacher, served as the student organization advisor, and directed booster club activities to support the agriculture program. He also held the role of Career and Technical Education Department Chair and was the Assistant Principal at one of the district’s high schools.
“I am excited to return to the high school level and work alongside the talented staff and students at Magnolia High School. I am committed to fostering an environment where every student can excel academically, socially, and emotionally,” said Mr. Allbritton.
Mr. Allbritton will take over from Mr. Greg Quinn, who announced his retirement at the end of this school year. Mr. Allbritton holds a Bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University and a Master’s in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University.
Josh Jacobs Named Principal at Bear Branch Junior High
Bear Branch Junior High has named Josh Jacobs as its new Principal. He has served as the Assistant Principal at BBJH for the past two years. His background includes significant leadership roles, including Academic Coordinator at Magnolia High School, where he led teacher planning sessions and implemented data-driven instruction at both the high school and junior high levels.
“I am honored to step into the role of Principal at Bear Branch Junior High School, and continue to work alongside our dedicated staff and community in this new capacity,” said Mr. Jacobs. “I am excited for the opportunity to continue our campus mission and to create and promote a positive learning environment where every student can thrive.”
Mr. Jacobs joined Magnolia ISD in 2019. He has extensive teaching experience, having taught Advanced Placement World History and served as an Instructional Coach, as well as assistant coach for football and basketball. His earlier career in Wichita Falls includes teaching sixth, seventh, and tenth-grade history and coaching at both the junior high and high school levels.
Mr. Jacobs will take over from Dr. Julia Venghaus, who is opening the new Magnolia Parkway Junior High Campus. Jacobs holds a Bachelor’s degree from Midwestern State University and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Texas Tech University. He is currently working on his Doctorate in Education at Texas Tech University as well.
Katie Fields Named Principal at Ellisor Elementary
Ellisor Elementary has named Katie Fields as its new Principal. She has served as the campus Assistant Principal for the past three years and will replace Mrs. Kristin Boyd, who has taken on the role of Executive Director of Student Services at the district office.
Mrs. Fields has been in education for 20 years and has held several leadership roles. Prior to Ellisor, she served as an Assistant Principal in Cy-Fair ISD for four years. She has also been a Reading and Language Arts Specialist and has taught kindergarten, third and fifth grades.
“I am honored to be named Principal of Ellisor! This is my home as Ellisor is truly a unique place. Our staff is committed to serving all who walk through our doors with compassion and unwavering loyalty. I look forward to leading the success of Ellisor and continuing to serve our school and the community,” said Mrs. Fields.
She has a Bachelor’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Master’s in curriculum and instruction from Texas A&M.
