HISTORY MADE: Magnolia NJROTC Shines on the National Stage!

What a week! Our Magnolia NJROTC cadets have officially wrapped up their first-ever appearance at the Navy National Drill Championship in Pensacola, and the results are nothing short of legendary.

Out of 632 NJROTC units worldwide, only 23 were invited to compete—and Magnolia proved they belong among the elite. Here’s a look back at an unforgettable journey:

DAY 1: Inspiration & Heritage The week started strong at NAS Pensacola, where cadets met Captain Chandra Newman, the first woman to lead the installation, and watched the U.S. Navy Blue Angels take flight. Our drill teams also had the honor of performing for staff and students at the USMC Expeditionary Airfield Technician School.

DAY 2: Heart & New Records From a 4:30 AM start to a 7:40 PM finish, our cadets gave it everything. The moment of the day came on the track: after falling behind early in the 16x100-meter relay, the team battled back to win their heat and set a NEW TEAM RECORD! They capped the 15-hour day by tackling the National Academic Exam.

DAY 3: The Grand Finale Riding that momentum, the cadets delivered their best performances yet in Armed and Unarmed Exhibition. They even had the rare honor of meeting and taking a group photo with the Navy’s top leadership, including Rear Admiral Pottenburg and Rear Admiral Huffman.

THE FINAL RESULTS:

• 5th Place in Armed Regulation
• 11th Overall in the Nation!
