Nancy Wilson Recognized by College Football Playoff Foundation’s Extra Yard for Teachers

When one of her students nominated her for the College Football Playoff Foundation’s Extra Yard for Teachers recognition, it was no surprise to those who know Nancy Wilson.

Mrs. Wilson has been an educator in Magnolia for 17 years and is currently a 6th-grade Reading/Language Arts teacher at Magnolia Parkway Intermediate.

“She is a cheerful and passionate teacher who brings joy and positivity to our campus every day,” said Parkway Intermediate Principal Coni Felinski. “She genuinely loves her students and works hard to build meaningful connections with each of them. Always eager to grow, she challenges herself by trying new teaching strategies and creative activities that keep learning engaging and fresh. Her enthusiasm and dedication inspire her students and colleagues.”

The College Football Playoff (CFP) Foundation’s Extra Yard for Teachers initiative is a national program launched in 2015 to elevate and celebrate outstanding educators during a dedicated week in September. It focuses on four key pillars: resources, recognition, recruitment, and professional development.

One of the dynamic elements of the program is the Game Ball Recognition, which includes delivering a branded game ball, a “Great Teacher” t-shirt, and a gift card to spotlight educators.
