Bear Branch Junior High’s Bear Robotics students showcased their hard work, creativity, and problem-solving skills at the FIRST® LEGO® League Qualifier event held the weekend of January 24, 2025. Competing against 30 teams from the Houston area, Bear Robotics stood out, with all three teams placing in their respective categories and earning awards.
The event marked an important milestone in the students' journey through science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and was a testament to the dedication and teamwork fostered through the Bear Robotics program. Two of the teams advanced to the regional qualifier on February 15, 2025, as a result of their outstanding performance.
Award-winning students:
- Bear Robotics Primo: Awarded 3rd Place in Robot Design and qualified for the Regional Tournament.

- Bear Robotics Elite team: Awarded 2nd Place in Core Values and qualified for the Regional Tournament.
Team members: Lucas Behnke, Lucas Weston, Camden Miller, Hunter Schutte, and Ismael Sanchez.
- Bear Robotics Alpha: Awarded the Breakthrough Award.
Team members: Holdyn Adelgren, Reagan Christopherson, Austin Chow, and Robert Kaufmann.
FIRST® LEGO® League introduces science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to students ages 4-16 through fun, exciting hands-on learning. Participants gain real-world problem-solving experience through a guided, global robotics program, helping today's students and teachers build a better future together.
