Bus Driver Hiring

MISD is offering a stipend to all new MISD full-time bus drivers effective immediately for the 2022 – 2023 school year.
- New Bus Driver stipend – Potential to earn up to $1,000 for all newly hired bus drivers who satisfy the eligibility criteria as stated below.
In order for a new transportation employee to qualify to receive the hiring stipend, the new employee must meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- has never worked as a full-time bus driver for MISD OR
- previous MISD bus drivers must have had a minimum of 1 year (12 months) break in service immediately preceding re-employment with the Magnolia ISD.
Compensation payout schedule:
The three-part payout schedule for hiring stipends:
- 50% after successfully completing the required MISD training (released as a full-time driver)
- 25% after successfully completing 45 days as of full-time bus driver for the district
- 25% upon successfully completing 90 days as a full-time bus driver for the district.
