Navy JROTC

The Magnolia I.S.D. NJROTC instructors are excited and highly motivated for another outstanding year.  Your student has chosen the finest program in Magnolia ISD and we are dedicated to developing virtuous citizens of character and helping them mature into responsible adults committed to achievement.  Cadets are expected to be polite, maintain a positive attitude, and be respectful to fellow students, MISD employees, and guests/visitors, on and off campus.

The Navy JROTC program is open to all students.  We are not part of the U.S. Military and your child incurs no military obligation regardless of how many years they complete in NJROTC.  Cadets are expected to wear the NJROTC uniform they were issued to school one day each week (typically Wednesday for the entire day).  Cadets are required to participate in all elements of the curriculum including: drill, classroom academics and physical fitness training. 

NJROTC extra-curricular competitive teams are voluntary and include:  the Armed and Unarmed Drill teams, Color Guard, Orienteering team, Air Rifle team, and  the Physical Fitness team.  Cadets are also required to wear a Physical Training (PT) uniform on Fridays during their class period only.  

There is an annual activity fee of $50.00 for all cadets. This fee pays for dry cleaning their issued uniform items upon turn-in AND a unit t-shirt for NS-1 (first year) cadets OR a ticket to the annual Military Ball for our "veterans" (NS-2/NS-3/NS-4) cadets.  First year cadets also receive a white undershirt and black socks to wear with their uniform; replacements are the responsibility of the cadet's family.   If you have additional questions, please contact us via email or at (281) 356-3572 x24401 or x24402.

 Costs: Initial issue of NJROTC uniform components are loaned to cadets at no cost.  If a cadet loses or damages a uniform item, they will be charged the current cost to replace it.  Students changing their schedule will not be cleared to leave by NJROTC teachers until all issued uniform items are turned in or paid for. Students graduating will not receive their diploma until their NJROTC account is closed out.
